# Sources and rights

YWF is an unofficial fan companion. It is not affiliated with Blizzard or Wowhead.

- Original website: the user-supplied YWF V36 source. V37 retains its existing pages, original account code, themes, planners, character imports, gear tools and local preference keys.
- AtlasLoot: supplied AtlasLootClassic and AtlasLootClassic_DungeonsAndRaids archives. The supplied core LICENSE is GPL version 2. The original source archives, including their notices, are included in ../sources; the literal-data extraction and transformations are in ../tools. Atlas-derived portions retain the original license obligations. The presence of that license does not grant rights to Blizzard artwork or relicense unrelated components. No Season of Discovery or Burning Crusade data modules were imported.
- ForeverCompanion: supplied Data/Loot.lua and Data/Talents.lua inspected. Only factual loot metadata and associations were extracted; addon executable code and artwork have not been republished. No standalone project-wide license was supplied. Ace3's license applies to its library, not automatically to the addon's own work. A separately licensed public export is used for talent descriptions and layout.
- ForeverDungeonJournal by Exehn: supplied Data/Dungeons.lua and other data files inspected. Only factual boss/item metadata and associations were extracted. No standalone project-wide license was supplied. Its original code and bundled artwork have not been republished.
- Talent data: **Chris Baldwin, Talents Forever**, https://talentsforever.com . Per-class public exports generated 2026-10-23, licensed CC BY 4.0: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ . Reuse terms: https://talentsforever.com/terms . Changes: normalized metadata, selected only talent trees/rank descriptions, cached referenced icons, added independent reference comparisons. The public tool-maker export explicitly permits reuse with attribution, including commercial reuse. This permission covers their organization and checking of data; it does not transfer Blizzard's rights.
- Wowhead Forever: https://www.wowhead.com/forever . Public item XML supplies factual item values, checked dates and available drop-chance fields. Text only was normalized; no website HTML, calculator executable code or other proprietary implementation was copied into YWF. Public calculator data was compared for reference accuracy, not distributed as code. `public/talent-reference-audit.json` records comparison results. The XML feed is distinct from scraping website pages. Public feed/forum guidance consulted: https://www.wowhead.com/forums/topic/data-mining-screen-scraping-106641 and https://www.wowhead.com/forums/topic/use-the-item-tooltips-statically-59594 . Automated page crawling and access-control bypasses are not included.
- World of Warcraft names, in-game descriptions, item/spell icons and artwork belong to **Blizzard Entertainment**. Icons were retrieved by their source-provided icon names from the public Wowhead/ZAM image CDN for fan reference. No icon was generated or substituted as a supposed item icon. Source-provided names do not themselves grant a blanket artwork license. This archive makes no ownership claim over Blizzard material.

A record marked verified means a source snapshot was successfully checked; it is not an endorsement, an official live-server certification, or a guarantee that beta data will remain unchanged. Source-backed associations and live drop observations are different evidence.

## V38 metadata enrichment

Data from [AHledger](https://ahledger.com/?utm_source=ahledger_api&utm_medium=api&utm_campaign=items), through its documented public catalog API. Source-provided required levels and metadata were selected by exact item ID and name. Public API reuse conditions: https://ahledger.com/developers and https://ahledger.com/terms . No full stat blocks or source-derived drop rates were supplied by these returned payloads. Conflicting values were retained for review. No AHledger addon code was copied or redistributed. The included YWFItemExporter is an original implementation.

## V39 test build

V39 extends the supplied V38 source without replacing the item or talent datasets. New layout, character workflow, backend adapter and Character Exporter are original implementation code. The user-provided dark fantasy dashboard image is used only as a visual direction; its pixels, sample news, game art, logos and simulated outputs were not inserted into the application. No Raidbots, Method, Wowhead or ForeverChanges design/code was copied.

V39 homepage and profile portraits are original AI-generated fantasy illustrations, distinct from official game images/models. `ART_PROVENANCE.md` records prompts and optimized asset paths. Gallery portraits are nine base illustrations with class labels, not 56 individually painted class costumes or verified game models. Race/class labels are grounded in the official source links in `public/v39-content.json`; indexed sources do not replace live character-creation verification.

The visible talent controls no longer display historical source-comparison boilerplate. Required Talents Forever attribution, CC BY 4.0 link, modifications and verification caveats are retained here and in `public/credits.html`. All inherited licenses remain in this distribution.

## V39 fantasy design correction

New stone, icon-atlas and sunset-citadel assets are original generated fantasy artwork. New vector frames, chart icon and compass-shield emblem are original implementation. The supplied dashboard screenshot was used as a reference, never copied into the deployed site. See `DESIGN_ASSETS.md` for prompts and runtime asset paths.

The self-hosted display font is DejaVu Serif Bold, subset to supported Latin/Greek/punctuation characters and converted to WOFF. Its copyright and redistribution notices are in `DejaVu-font-license.txt`; body and unsupported-script text use device serif fallback fonts. The font's original glyph design was not copied from a website or game interface. Existing item/talent artwork and all earlier data attributions remain unchanged.

## V39 usability assets
The twelve profession SVG drawings in assets/usability and schematic SVG in usability-map.js are original code-drawn illustrations created for YWF, released under CC0-1.0. They do not reproduce game map artwork or competitor assets. Schematic anchors are not game coordinates. Retained fantasy artwork/font licenses remain unchanged.

## RaidNook supplied class strip
Nine 42×42 PNGs in assets/raidnook/classes are pixel-exact crops from the user-supplied class screenshot (4e89db4b-2aa3-4d09-9741-7bee53ca1354.png). No generated or substituted artwork. Game icon copyright remains with Blizzard; no CC0 ownership or broad redistribution licence is asserted for those icons. Existing game-icon attribution and fan-site limitations remain applicable.
